What is PatientWisdom?
PatientWisdom is a digital tool that focuses on what matters to patients as people. More specifically, PatientWisdom efficiently collects, curates, segments, and summarizes perspectives to transform the experience and delivery of care.
If you need medical advice or help with urgent medical matters, please contact your healthcare providers. Please call 911 in case of an emergency or life-threatening situation. It is important to understand that PatientWisdom does not dispense or replace medical advice.
Some of the information that you share on PatientWisdom is used to improve communication with your healthcare team and healthcare organizations, but PatientWisdom is not a way to directly message your healthcare provider.
How It Works
Patients, families, and caregivers use PatientWisdom to share information about themselves, their health, and their care. PatientWisdom runs analytics on the information, and packages it to provide actionable insights to help:
- Patients, families, and caregivers feel better.
- Clinical encounters work better.
- Healthcare organizations do a better job.
For instance, based on the information you share, PatientWisdom creates the inSIGHT summary, an at-a-glance view to help your entire healthcare team know what’s important to you as a person. You can see your inSIGHT summary whenever you use PatientWisdom, and can update your information any time.
You are in Control
Everyone must provide their name and a current email address when registering for PatientWisdom. Your name will only be seen by people who provide your care and/or are responsible for the quality of your care experience at the organization that provides your care. You control what information is seen. In other words, the information about you comes directly from you.
When people share information about themselves, their illness experience, and their care experience, they are helping to transform the experience and delivery of care. This works best if everyone follows these guidelines:
Only registered users can share information on PatientWisdom because we want to help ensure that real people – not ‘bots’ – are joining the PatientWisdom community.
Your experience matters. So does the way you share it. When describing your experiences – good or bad – the tone of communication should be constructive.
Do NOT use ethnic slurs, personal insults, or obscenity. Posts with insensitive or malicious content will be removed from the site.
Be a team player.
We all have a role in ensuring that PatientWisdom is functioning well. We encourage you to contact us if you have concerns about any content posted on PatientWisdom or any suggestions for making the community even stronger.
